Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology
Located in beautiful Denver, Colorado, the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology is one of the largest veterinary technician schools in the U.S. that offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology. The Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology is fully accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Accrediting Commission of
Career Schools and Colleges of Technology. The veterinary technology program at Bel-Rea is also recognized for training
and student financial assistance by the Department of Rehabilitation and is approved for veteran’s training by the Veterans Administration.
In addition, Bel-Rea Institute is approved by the Colorado Department of Higher Education and the U.S. Department of Higher Education, and is authorized to enroll non-immigrant alien students. Upon completion of 125 credit hours of curriculum requirements, Bel-Rea Institute students receive an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology.
Most Bel-Rea students complete the program in 24 months, although some can complete it in less if their prior college
credit can be applied. Federal Financial Aid allows up to 36 months to complete the program.
Bel-Rea students spend the last quarter of the program interning at one of their many approved veterinary hospitals and facilities. The internship program allows you to put all of your classroom and laboratory instruction to use in an actual veterinary setting, receiving hands-on, real world experience. Each internship facility is staffed by highly qualified veterinarians and board certified technicians who work to ensure you receive clinical experience in a variety of areas
in order to gain practical experience.
At Animal Reproductive Technologies, students have the opportunity to learn routine health care, general farm practices and restraint as part of their large animal training. At Kenlyn Arabians, students perform routine health care on the farm’s horses. This hands-on experience allows students to view live births, observe breeding procedures and learn about the overall equine industry from a real-life perspective. The Faculty at Bel-Rea consists of 3 Professors, 13 Technical Instructors, and 2 General Education Instructors.
