The geosciences are the Earth sciencesstudying the Earth and the people who inhabit itby examining the land,the atmosphere,the oceans,human cultures,and how they interact.They grants degrees in the disciplines of Atmospheric Sciences,Geography,Geology & Geophysics,and Oceanography,and interdisciplinary degrees in environmental geosciences,environmental studies,geosciences,and water management and hydrologic science.
New academic initiatives for undergraduate students in the College of Geoscience include BS degrees offered in Environmental Studies,Environmental Geosciences,Geography with a Geographic Information Science option,and Spatial Sciences.Another recent offering is a minor in Geoinformatics (GIS/GPS/RS).They approaches all aspects of their missionteaching,research,and outreach from a global perspective.
